Iris Louisiana ‘Heather Stream’ – Wildlife Pond Edge Iris (Soft Lilac Blooms)

Description

If you want your pond edge to feel like something out of a quiet wetland meadow – this is the iris.

Iris Louisiana ‘Heather Stream’ is a beautifully soft-toned Louisiana iris, flowering in early summer with rich lilac/pink petals and warm golden centres. It brings colour without harshness – the kind of plant that looks completely at home beside water, catching light like a reflection.

Louisiana irises thrive in consistently damp soil and shallow pond margins, making them ideal for wildlife ponds, bog gardens, and naturalistic stream-edge planting. Their upright leaves provide structure and shelter for pond insects, while the blooms offer nectar and interest for pollinators passing through.

This is one of those plants that instantly makes a pond feel established – not decorative, but alive.
